Color space for Profiling

Is there any matters of what color space i'd be using for shooting test target for calibraation IN? I means that is I'll buil the profile from AdobeRGB test target image - could i use sucj profile with sRGB photos?

It is better to have matching color spaces in profiles and images, though it doesn't make much difference from the standpoint of filtration.
