Save in compressed TIF format?

Is this possible? LZW compressed tiff files from my Sony ARW files average around 20Mb in size. Neat Image (64-bit Linux version) can open these compressed tiff files without any problem, but it doesn't seem to be able to to save the processed files as tiff with compression - the saved files are all 60Mb in size, and there's nothing on the output tab of the Preferences dialog indicating that compression is supported.
If I use ImageMagick to compress the TIFs produced by Neat Image they come back down to the size of the original TIF files.
