Can't view saved documents

Neat quit working because the imagedb file went missing. After a long session with tech support I got it going when I found an old imagedb file. Now it won't let me view any of my hundreds of scanned images. It tells me they won't be visible until I do an initial sync to the cloud. I don't want to do that. I want to keep backups on my own drives. Can I sync to the cloud and get my images back, then cancel the cloud account?

I have a full backup, but was advised by a chat-line tech not to restore unless I had exported everything, just before my system locked up and I lost him. Tech support is closed for the day now. I have no idea how the current imegedb file disappeared.

This is forum of the software product called "Neat Image". What is the name of the product you use?
