Selecting only part of image for noise reduction

Post by gailb » Wed Jan 02, 2019 3:48 am

Most of my images only need noise reduction on the background. I do not want any NR on the bird or animal. What is the best way to do this? Currently, I am selecting the BG in Photoshop, putting it on a layer then sending that layer to NI. Seems to work fine but (as a newbie) want to know if there is an easier or better way. Thanks.

You may not need to put the selected area on a new layer. You can simply select an area in your existing layer, open NI, apply NI and it will only apply noise reduction to the selected area.
