New After Effects update slows GPU performance dramatically

I was testing my GPU performance a few days ago.
on a comp size of 2560x1440 I could get about 13.2 frames/sec on GPU only.
I updated After Effects to v17.5 today and now the speed is about 0.4 frames/sec. It's incredibly slow.
Just wanted to bring this up because I don't know if something is wrong or not. I'm on the latest version of neatvideo for AE. GPU is RTX 2080 Super
