Trees problem when applying NeatVideo

Post by Spawner777 »

Hello,
I've recently got into this issue when applying NeatVideo on video's with trees. It makes them mushy. Sorry but i cannot explain it in words so i'll leave a couple a photos and a video that demonstrates my issue. I've tried building different profiles numerous times, lower noise reduction value but no luck :(

When building a noise profile using a frame where you cannot find an area without details, you will most likely get some details in the analysis area and that will ruin the accuracy of the noise profile and then you will get incorrect noise reduction, exactly as you have described. In such situations, please try to use Generic Profiles instead. That doesn't require an area without details.

Thank you,
Vlad

Thank you for your fast answer Vlad. I've tried building a generic profile instead but no luck with that. I've screen recorded all the process because maybe i'm missing something. See the video below.

The screen recording doesn't seem to show the process of noise profile building in Neat Video and doesn't show preview inside Neat Video.

Also, please post the Sequence Settings from this project. Perhaps they show something unusual like a poor preview codec.

I can't get it to screen record NeatVideo pop up window so i did screenshot every step below. (also in the end it's the preview with the result)

Please create a fresh new test project with just one clip and just one effect (Reduce Noise v5 SR) applied to that clip. Please verify that the problem is reproducible in the test project and then upload the test project and source clip to https://wetransfer.com/ for us.

Thank you,

Thank you. There is not much noise in the most of the image but the trees are mostly noise with little details under the noise. Taking that into account, your result is quite good. But it is possible to slightly improve it by disabling the spatial filter. Please see how that is done in the attached preset.

Hope this helps.
