Vegas Pro 10 now offers a completely new video effects plug-in architecture based on the Open Effects Association standard. Will NeatVideo support Vegas 10 when it is released in October? Or can Neat Video for OpenFX-compatible applications be used as a plug-in in Vegas 10?

If new Vegas will support OpenFX standard then it should be possible to use OpenFX plug-ins in it. We will see how well it will support the standard. Many hosts only partially support it.

Any news about a possible OFX version of NeatVideo for Sony Vegas Pro 10?

It is technically possible. We may add it later.

Have you compared the implementation of the OFX plugin architecture in Vegas Pro 10 and the existing OFX version of NeatVideo?

And, so we cannot expect an OFX version of NeatVideo for Vegas in the near future?

Technically, the Vegas' implementation of OFX is quite sufficient and our OFX plug-in could be adapted to support and use it. Please note however that our OFX plug-in is more expensive than the traditional Vegas plug-in. Anyway, if there is enough interest among users, we could make the OFX plug-in support Vegas too, perhaps in the next version.

Will an OFX version of NeatVideo for Sony Vegas solve the problems with the existing Vegas plugin (discussed in several thread)?

Can existing NeatVideo users “upgrade” to the OFX version for Sony Vegas for $100, or do we have to pay $199?

Technically, it can probably resolve some of those issues that are currently also resolved via the no lag option in the Vegas plug-in. Will know that for sure after adapting the OFX version to Vegas.

It is a bit too early to say anything about possible upgrade costs as there is no such compatible version yet. We will of course make it less expensive for our current users. However any specifics will be available only when the technical side is done.

Hi Vlad,

I'd be another serious Vegas Pro user, interested in some development of the excellent NeatVideo plugin by utilizing the OFX capabilities VP now offers...

The stutter/sudden jumping doesn't happen too often in my edits, but when it does, no work-around seems to help.

With Best Regards

There is now a "no lag" option in the latest version of NV for Vegas. If it doesn't help with stutter then the OFX version will not help either.

Yes - but I understood the No Lag option has been a work-around introducing some side effect limitations (can't remember now which), so at least this could be avoided, perhaps?

It is a workaround but it is a good one, please try it.

Thank you,
