Hi, Im new to NV, but I just purchased 3.5.0 64bit pro the other day.
Im using Vegas pro 12.0 on Win7 64 - i7 3770 ( 8gb ram )
I get these random split second pauses in the playback after rendering using NV filters. I am using about 35% Lum 100% chrom about 150% sharpening in standard mode only
All of my work is post production on frame by frame scanned 8mm projector film. The unit that does the scanning is a bit grainy, so I just wanted to take the grain or roughness out of the picture.
Can you tell me why these pauses ( glitches are happening please ? )
I am happy to build a rock solid fast computer to handle all my rendering from now on.
Can you recommend specs for CPU - Ram - GPU motherboard etc.
I'll pass the info on to my computer guy for him to build a system for me.
Any advise much appreciated. I really do need to have 100% confidence that the final render MPG2 file is without glitches, as I cannot realistically
watch every second of every projector film DVD I create, looking for skips and pauses.
cheers
Scott

Do they occur in the beginnings of individual clips or in any part inside a clip?
Have you enabled the "No Lag Mode" option?
Does the problem depend on the output codec? Will it go away if you encode using another codec?

Thanks for your reply.
I am encoding to MPG2 Progressive using mainConcept codec YUV
They occur at random places.
If I encode a 5 min section twice. The problem will appear at a different spot, or .... not at all on the 2nd attempt
Yes i have ticked the no lag, as I read about the Vegas Lag issue with a previous NV version.
Does this info help ?
cheers

I've just sent a post to Video help asking for alternative reliable MPG2 codecs
for Vegas Pro 12
Do you have any suggestions you can link me to.
I did do a small test encoding to PAL DV AVI and it seemed OK, however I will need to do a lot more testing than just 1 x 5 min video.
The problem is that I make hundreds of DVDs by coming straight from the timeline in Vegas to MPG2. ( then I take that file into another DVD authoring program )
I could encode with NV to AVI, and then bring the AVI back into vegas to make the MPG2 files, but that's a lot of double handling - time, and probably a quality loss ( not sure ! )
