I have one photo that when I try to use the auto profile, I get the message “Neat Image cannot automatically find uniform area. You can continue building profile using found area, but profile quality will be low. Continue building profile”? I also get the message “area not uniform in Y channel”. I s...

Area Not Uniform In Y Channel? - resolved

I just upgraded from home 4.4 to 5.0. I ran some images from a shoot thru v 4.4 with no problems, but now I needed to run some different images from the same shoot with V5.0. On all but one photo, I got the error message “Area Not Uniform in Y Channel”. What the heck it this? I can use an old filter...

Thank you for the feedback. I build profiles with one of the images with the camera, lens and ISO used for that image, and save with a name that lets me know what profile to use for the images I’ve shot. They are fairly consistent. Same gym and same football field lights, so body, lens and ISO sets ...

To Resize First or Not?

I’m sure this question gets asked a lot. I searched, and only found one thread on this subject that didn’t really speak to my situation, so here goes. Thanks. That makes sense, and is what I want to do. 3.15 home to 4.0 home. I just wasn't sure what "edition" meant. The way I read it, it could apply to "version". Just wasn't clear. Your answer is clear.

Upgrading 3.1 to 4.0 Question

I am currently using NeatImage 3.1 Home. I just heard 4.0 is out, but the web page is unclear on the upgrading process. The NeatImage web page says; “Users of previous versions of Neat Image are entitled to free upgrade to the latest version of the same edition”. What does the term “Same Edition” me...

When to Apply Neat Image vs Resizing

I shoot jpg. Out of camera size is 2440 x 1488. Images I use online in my galleries and in forums are reduced to 800 or 640 px. When is the best time to apply Neat Image? Before resizing, or after resizing?

What is the compression rate of the Demo version? Ok, I found 91 in another thread, but how does this relate to how much it is compressing. In my photo editing software, 91 is heavy compression, reducing the quality, and 1 is light compression being the highest quality. How does the Neat Image 91 fi...
